Fixing Systems
Bronze plaques are normally mounted on a wall, base or other structure. Many systems are available
to ensure a practical, safe and permanent fixing is achieved.
The fixing system required should be specified when the plaque is ordered. The cost of Phoenix
Foundry standard fixing systems are included in the price of the plaque.
> Flat Black - Used for standard Burial plaques on beams or bases and
cremation plaques on curbs, rocks or other horizontal or sloping surfaces. The
plaque is provided with a flat back to be glued to the supporting structure with
a suitable adhesive such as silicone.
> Glue-able Strip -Elite plaques on beams, bases or walls use this fixture.
Plaques with irregular backs are fitted with strips to provide sufficient flat
surface for gluing.
> Lugs and Studs - Used with standard burial plaques on beams or bases and
cremation plaques on curbs, rocks or walls. The number and location of lugs is
dependant on the size of the plaque and base structure requirements. Lugs
with threaded studs are cast on or welded to the back of the plaque. The
threaded studs (supplied separately) are screwed into the lugs. Studs are
placed in holes drilled in the base structure and fixed with adhesive.
> Studs - Used to fix plaques to hollow walls. Brass pins or studs 4.5mm
diameter] are welded directly to the back of the plaque and supplied
with washers and a nut.
> Screws - Screw fittings will facilitate easy removal and replacement. Brass
screws placed in holes drilled in the plaque are used to fix the plaque to the
base structure. Screws can be supplied with countersunk, round or
ornamental heads which will be painted in the same background colour as
the plaque
> Stake - Support
for cremation plaques placed in gardens or under trees. The plaque is fitted with a bronze stake
suitable for placing in the ground.
> Straps - For cremation plaques fitted to niche walls. Bronze straps are welded to
the back of the plaque which are designed to lock into a niche wall. A range of designs
are available to fit any sized niche. Some designs also grip the ashes container when
placed in the niche.
